At Chakrana, we are committed to “paying it forward” by sponsoring micro-loans to small business owners. We believe the micro-lending model empowers individuals in developing countries around the globe. For this reason, we will donate 5% of each sale to our lending portfolio on Kiva.org.
See the video below to learn more about how Kiva works.
As a child growing up in Peru, I watched my father work tirelessly to build and maintain a small business during a time of political and economic upheaval in my country. I witnessed first-hand how monetary support, no matter how small, could be the difference between success or failure for independent businesses.
Our business philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that supporting small businesses is the best way to contribute to impoverished countries. By empowering business owners through micro-lending programs, we can create a ripple effect, benefiting not only an individual, but also families, communities, and ultimately, a nation.
“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
